All,

I have a 4.0 long block with only 34K on it. Always ran synthectics and this engine pulled strong since new. I rolled the vehicle and now its just taking up space on a stand in my garage. All of the ancillaries axcept the alternator and A/C are currently bolted to to motor.

So here is the deal: $800 if you come get it. If I have to ship it then it will be whatever it costs me to build the crate plus $50 labor + shipping to your zip. I would estimate that shipping this would run about $200, but could be more with todays gas prices.

Thanks for looking and let me know if you have any questions: curtis@newkirks.net

This motor is back up for grabs. Marc's dad was going to take it, but decided he would use Marc's spare if needed. Marc even tried a 50/50 with his dad, but he would not grab. I am sure Marc will confirm that this is a deal and a half.

This is an excellent deal on a great motor. If you have an older D2 this has nearly everything you need for a drop-in replacement. If you have a D1 then there are a bunch of parts to sell to fund your project and the core long-block withh still work.

Its not just the motor. It includes the headers, entire ignition, spark plugs, injectors, fuel-air system. Everything. I cut it out of the rolled truck complete and I believe the only parts not there are the alternator. The A/C compressor is on my workebench.

I need the space and the wife wants it gone. Someone take this quick or I am droppping it off at a mechanics shop this week.

Thanks,

hmmm.. have you done a compression test or leakdown , also what year is it? That is about 100000 less miles than mine has.

Sorry for the delay, but I have been out of town.

DiscoJon - no - I have had no reason to do that. The motor ran super strong until the day the truck was rolled. I started it after that and it ran fine.

Cambo - stock exhaust. This motor is 100% stock.

Archerdisco - it is out of an '00. I will try to post pics later. You will see that this is a very clean engine with no leaks.

My Nievete...
Does that fit a D1?
You mention a bunch of parts that we don't need....but the engine intrigues me as mine is blowing coolant pretty badly these days when pushed.

Yes, it will fit a D1. You will have to use some of your old parts. Some years just the intake assembly and ancillary parts. Pre-96 you can add the ignition system to that list.

Curtis, thanks for the reply.
What was the hp on the 00 engine? I was dune-ing this weekend and realized if I am doing an engine swap its going to involve more HP....as this was bogging down - then sinking.

Not sure - its a bit more than the 94, but the main HP gain you will realize will be from a newer motor. Since your uses the older ignition system the stated horsepoer will probably be the same or similar.

Well, I will investigate this further, if you are getting rid of it just to get rid of it, I can have it picked up whenever you want, and get it stored locally in Salty Lake, whether I use it or not. I just don't want to see an engine dissapear off the market. My brother lives in Sandy (and a couple of other buddies locally too) and he drives a 4wd van that can get it. So...while I investigate, and see what's the best alternative to get more HP (whether it be adding a cam etc), if you decide to scrap it, or get rid of it, let me know, and I can have someone over there in a few hours.
