I think it's getting time time do gears, I have 32s now, but I'm probably gonna go to 34s next set of tires. Anyone have any suggestions/ experience? Will 4.77s be too low for even the 34s?
Thanks,
Steve

I recently installed the 4.11's from GBR with 265/75 16. It was super zippy compared to the stock gears, spedo was reading about 61 at 55 (I think). I just put 255/85 maxxis on and it is perfect. I live at high elevation and often cross donner pass to tahoe. The gears make it a much more enjoyable experience. I think that if I had 4.75's (14% lower) I would never get over 60 and the pinion is microtus. P.S. don't take toyota guy votes for 4.56 or 4.88 bc we have 1.22 underdrive in High range.

With my 4.11's ... I had 265/75/16's which were probably worn down about an inch.. so about a 31" tire.. now I have 285/75/16's which is about 33" ... I think the power feels so much nicer with the 33s then with the 31s... I've gotten it to 80 without an issue.. I could have probably have gone a little faster, but I don't drive fast to begin with..

what rpms are you turning on the highway with the 4:10 and 33" 285/255/16. I think a 3:70 or 3:90 gear would be good, so its not so wound out at interstate speeds. The 3:54 is really high, it is suprising rover uses this gear.

I have the 4.10's and with the 32 and 33 inch tires I really liked em' but the 34's are a bit sluggish IMO. I would go with the 4.75's if I had to do it over but I only use my Rover off road and for fun. Plus, I’m looking at 35’s next time (maybe). If you see the black top a lot and don't think you will ever go any bigger than 34 you will be ok with the 4.10's.

Self-destructing bad. That's kind of headed in the opposite direction of where I want my build to go. Anyone have the # for GBR, their website still isn't up and I would like to see about some gears..............

pinion is tiny and with 4.75 few teeth to gear contact.

If you need that deep of gearing you really ought to look at a toy conversion.

with 34s and the LT230 gearing and ZF and 4.11 it really is just about right.

depends mostly on how you intend to use the truck-
look up a tire size/gear ratio/rpm chart and decide based on it-
you'll be able to decide and tailor to your likes and useages...
but i also agree with the others on the 411's myself if you plan on keeping rover axles....more ratio's available and strength if you swap.
