So awesome, but the cynic in me can't help but think that those have just sat there and literally begun to rust and rot - as if that's just what happens to these things, whether salt, sand or air is the culprit.

And I say that as a former D90 owner who would own another in a heartbeat if the opportunity arose. Or if they'd fix that R380.

And though the article doesn't say so, I am pretty sure that these would not be legal to operate in the US. But I'd buy one and fly it to my dream second home in Montego Bay, Jamaica. It'd be legal there!

yes cars sitting for years will have lots of problems.

You clearly have no clue about UK Government acquisitions and their storage. Rust and rot? Rubbish! They were prep'd for storage, by LR when they left the factory at Lode Lane - as part of the contract to supply. There's having an opinion and there's knowing...
