The price may be high, but that is a very desirable truck. TDI conversion and few electronics to break come to mind. If the job was done right that rig should last someone a lifetime.

Work was done by Brittanica Restorations and they did do good work. $49,000 is Canadian right?

a friend of mine has done a similar HS conversion in his NAS 110 and the engine alone from M&D is around $10k. plus another $2500 for a modified 4HP22 transmission and another $4k+ to get it installed and sorted out.

$48000 for a completely restored truck that doesn't even have to deal with emissions issues? doesn't sound that bad.

I think the yellow is what got me, honestly. It's very bright and doesn't quite look normal. Guess I'd have to see it in person!

But I do agree that it's very nicely done.

You can have all this shipped from the UK for under 5k. Your friend took it dry right up the ass.

Maybe if some of you called around and priced a PROPERLY done diesel conversion you would not be laughing so hard.

Regardless of how nicely done it is - 1979 Defender 110 - does that not ring a few alarm bells with anyone ??? Much as I think the laws regarding motor vehicle importation over here are a bit shall we say "friggin Soviet Union Like" - the law is the law - I for one wouldn't want to drop 50k on that only to have it crushed. Besides - there is another few months to go and then a 110 circa 1983 will be completely legal :D
