Yeah - I've talked with Cam quite a few times and the owner Lance. Good guys. They bought 4X4 from it's original owner James Asti.....Back in the day 4X4 sold the most ARB Bumpers in the US! (That was waaaaaay back in the day!)

LOL

I meant, I am trying to figure out their structure, so I can estimate ..how many people work there.

if there are only 2 guys, then I will think my conversation took place with the owner, and if it was the other guy maybe it is time for major training , either way, they are Prejudice Sanctimonious Pricks.

there are a number of folks working there nowadays. Lance is the owner, but as far as I know he's removed himself from a lot of the day to day activities. IPOR did my cage and cappings for me. i stopped by there back in '09 and at that point I think there were at least 4-5 guys milling around who worked there. That was right when they bought up 4x4Connection, so they may have grown even bigger.

Sounds like a good story...

I used to know Jim Asti back in the days when it was land cruiser connection. Then Toyota did what Lr is doing now to all the shops. His yearly land cruiser swap meet was always a good time. I even won me a mean green starter in the raffle. But, that was about 12 years ago. So other than a stupid personal history lesson, I got nothing for you, Goose.

Robert ..not much but I wish that event took place in person *S*

Brian, is okay, ( damn jersey people *LOL* )

Here is what happened, I've ordered 2 Rocker Switches ( Carling ) for my lockers, they sent one, so I've called and spoke with a Lady, after few times on hold, she said she will send the second one, I asked her if she could expedite it, and she said " I will USPS Priority mail today " this happened around 4:30ish ( mind you when I placed the original order I was told they only use UPS and charged me $ 12.00 for shipping , first lie ).

5 minutes later while inspecting the switch I noticed it is the wrong one, so I call again

Here is wen this guy answered the phone

me : hi, I just spoke with a Lady about an issue regarding an ARB swith ( interrupted by the guy )
him : it is on its way to you , she just left for the post office
me: Well, we have a problem it is the wrong item
him: no it is not you order that on the web
me: Actually I ordered it via telephone and I ( interrupt )
him: I sent you part number xxxxxxx , so it is the right one
me: Sir, I would appreciate if you allow me to finish my presentation so we could both understand each other
him: you are not listening, and you interrupted me
me: go ahead
him: We are the largest ARB dealer in the world, I know my parts and we never make a mistake, send me a picture of your switch, I am sure you do not have a rocker switch but instead a pressure switch
me: have you finished Sir?
him: yeah
me: Look , I know the difference between a pressure and a rocker switch, this is not my first one, and in regards to your statement of " Not making mistakes " it appears not to be the case as you shipped one instead of 2, however you did invoice me for 2.
him: look send me a picture of the one you have, and I will compare it to the one I sent you, but I tell you you are wrong and you trying to make me feel bad for the mistake it is not gonna happen, I am not going to listen to that
me: again you keep interrupting me and appears it is about your feelings and not fulfilling your obligation as a vendor
him: when you get the other other one or not send me the pictures and we'll see from there
me: Sir, at this point I have no intentions to go in a wild goose chase, I would like you to take back your items as they are wrong.
him: I will not take them back, you ordered the wrong ones, and if you ship them back I will charge you a re-stocking fee and shipping back is on you.
me: How it's that fair, you send the wrong item, I need to pay to send it back to you and re-stocking, I am sorry Sir , but that is unacceptable
him: to bad for you
me: actually to bad for you as I will dispute the charge with my credit card , so send a call tag
him: I see you have trouble with English ( remember my accent ) do you want me to spell it out for you and hang up
me: call again , he answered ..." I see you are a very well educated and professional, tell me your name so I can return this in person
him: fuck you *click*
me: called back but store closed or ignored my calls

So Far,

I have called my CC, disputed the charge, sent an email to their info email ( I am sure the same person might get it so will end up in the trash ).

Now it is all about the principle and not the $ 32.00, I will make my quest to file complaints with the BBB, VA Chamber of Commerce and maybe one day I get the gift to meet this person so we can discuss in person how to treat a person and more importantly how to address them

Goose, your accent isn't that bad, I could understand you over a crappy internet connection from a war zone on yahoo voice service.

That guy is just a ball sniffing cock gobbler.

Bill,

I know brother, everytime I talk to friends over relay sucks *LOL*

he was wrong, called out and he chose the poor Sanctimonious Prick attitude

Sounds like that guy got a case of Keyboard/Phone Tough Guy "virus". If you represent a business, whether you are an owner or an employee, in no way, shape or form, should language/attitude described above be utilized. :banghead:

I'd call and talk to Cam. I talk/email with him pretty regularly and is a decent guy. He's the main person I speak to regarding parts, Toyota questions and events, etc.

I've had my own little "spat" with someone on their end, but I was the one dishing it out and he was pretty good at just listening to me vent.

Originally the relationship with 4x4 Connection and Iron Pig was that Iron Pig didn't buy 4x4, but rather was running 4x4, maintaining the website, processing orders and taking the lions share of the profit. That may have changed as I never got into that discussion in the past year with Cam.

I have a good friend in town that dropped some big coin on an ICON suspension and Iron Pig dropped the ball in regards to communications and timely shipping.

Goose actually IS the most interesting man in the world, and can speak Hebrew in Italian. Yeah, you have an accent. But it's about the coolest one ever. Seriously. You could do voice acting work.
