I just got back from LR dealer, and I was talking to the Parts guy and asked what they charged for the 60k service.. he said there was a chart.. he looked at the chart and it only went up to like 45k.. but he said "Well, 30k service is $660.00, and the 60k service is much cheaper than that since we don't need to drop the cross member for the ****** fluid" ... So, under 600 bucks? I thought I remembered seeing that it was around $1200 on here?

Not sure on the price, but I would ask the Service manager if you plan to take to the dealership. Personnally I would do the work yourself and save 3/4 of the money.

Rover says Yep.

Good news, You are correct. Land Rover a few years back sent out a TSB saying that they changed the Trans service interval from every 30k to replacement at the first 30,000 and just change fluid after that.

And, I agree. Rovers transmissions run very clean. I would agree with Rovers TSB.

Just had mine done about a week ago at LR in Princeton. $900.

Expensive, I should've done it myself since the dumb mechanic forgot to connect my MAF.

What does unhooking the MAF sensor have to do with a Transmission flush?

Shit guys... do it yourself. It's a simple job... just get a copy of the service schedule...

I also wrote a little blurb about "scheduled maintenance" back in April. If you're completely bored, give it a once over: http://www.houstonlandroverclub.com/tt_4_22_2004_maintenance.html

Serp belt.... not that it is part of the 60K service... but in case you need a new one... it is easy too. I even wrote a little blurb on that... http://www.houstonlandroverclub.com/tt_1_19_2004_serpentine.html

Seriously... save yourself some coin and do it yourself. And if you get stuck... you have the DiscoWeb!
