93 RRC Remote

I don't have one right now, and I'd like one for the convenience factor and the ability to arm the alarm. The only ones I can find, though are on eBay for $100 - and well used. Is there anyplace to buy them new?

Also, from what it seems, the remotes for the RRC is identical (cosmetically) to the remote for my dad's 1992 BMW 735i. Does anyone know if I could use a BMW remote instead, if I were able to get a good deal on one?

I don't know if the BMW remote will work, but you can buy a new remote from Rovers North.

Not sure about the '93, but I know on the '95s, even the Disco remote can't be programmed to a County--different frequency--even though they look identical. (I've tried it, and I've spoken with A-technicians who tried it too, without luck). I'd be surprised if the BMW remote worked. If not Rovers North, Atlantic British has them in stock (I just ordered 2 for my 'new' '95 LWB which is arriving in NJ from Texas tomorrow, woo hoo!). Happy clicking!

I couldn't find reliable info on the type/process for the '93 system so I retrofitted an audiovox one for $50. Works great.

Greg, I tried like hell to find one that worked on that truck and just never had any luck. apparently halfway through '93 they changed alarm systems which doesn't help and it appears that regardless of which system you go with, the remote has to somehow be matched to the system. If I'd have kept the truck I'd have retrofitted an aftermarket system.
