If this question has been asked/answered before, I didn't find it in a search of the forum and/or I didn't phrase the question correctly.
Have had my '95 D1 since new- the driver's door latch outside paddle is just about to break off- it's pot metal so there's no fixing it unless you have the right fluxes and welding rod, and really know what you are doing...
I haven't had the latch assembly out yet, and it's snowing to boot- 1st storm of the season.
Does anyone know if the exterior latch pivot pin can be removed? I can pick up a rear door latch assembly, etc on ebay for $20-30 vs a new drivers door latch, with electric hook up, from BA or RN for $200+..... Swapping out the latch paddle is obviously the way to go......
Thanks-
Tim
