95 Disco rear windows and rear wiper

Rear windows just wouldn't go back up today. Checked fuse, was fine. Took rechargeable battery, ran wires from it to wire going into rear door (that goes to window switch) and was able to run window back up to top.

The rear wiper would not work today either, fuse was fine also. I don't think these are related, just a coincidence. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I check next?

Thanks.

sounds like the window lift ecu is bad it is located behind the glove box probably a dealer only item when i replace it i found that it is easier to leave the ecu shell bolted in because it is hard to get to all the nuts to remove the ecu so i just swap the (guts) circuit board out should take care of your problem

I found an open lead in loom thru rear door once that had similar fault.
Check wiring too.

If you can solder & understand circuits, you can replace the relays yourself (if they're burnt), but it's often just 1 broken solder joint in the ECU that causes that problem.

I had the window problem yesterday, cycled the rear-window lockout switch a couple of times and the rear windows worked fine.

hmmm, the majority of electrical problems are due to bad earthing. When you say 2, normally good, electrical items died around the same time this is too much of a coincidence.

I would check all earth-ground connections. They easily become gunged up or loose causing the problem you are seeing...
