I was recently driving down the freeway about 3 hours into a trip at 80mph, I was in cruise and passing some traffic on level ground when the engine all but stopped. it lost all power instantly, I moved to the side and took it out of cruise and found that it operated normally at or below 25% throttle. but would completely looose power above that throttle setting. ( not bogged down but like the key had been shut off. ) I went home slowly and read my code with rovacom lite software. The following codes came up, catalytic converter low efficency P0420 P0430 both banks and no7 plug missfire. i opened the hood and rev'd the engine and got a small backfire. I let it cool over night and tried it again and found operation normal the next day. It has now run completely normally for several days and has shown up no more codes Can anyone give me any help on figuring this
out.
Thanks
Gordon

Well, if it was any other car, it'd probably be prudent to high-tail it to a garage.

Buuut, since it's a Rover, I'd say it's par for the course, and just drive it until it happens again :D

I'm big on having faith in the vehicle's quirkiness...which perhaps isn't the best philosophy, since obviously it's better to nip problems in the bud. But these vehicles are definitely prone to freaking out for no real apparent reason, so I wouldn't get too concerned yet..

Since you say it's not throwing any more codes, I assume your Check Engine light is off?

the check engine light is off in fact my regular code for failed abs hasn't come back on. ( It's allways on for that) I really would like anyone who has had any similiar experiences to offer anything that might help. I use my D1 as a service vehicle and need to keep the relaibility as high as possible. Any of you Guru's out there???
Thanks Gordon
