Less concerned about the tweaked plastic bumper and more concerned about the missing letters on the hood. Usually indicates a front-end respray.

exactly. plus the dent on the right front fender and pictures all not showing areas that give away damage hence my inquisition....

not saying it actually has been, but the clues lean that way.

Its hard to say whats what from a picture, but I think the lower door frame and some other places look like the clear coat isn't there. Front lettering missing has to mean something.

I have only owned this truck for a week and I don't know any of the history of it. There isn't any lettering on the rear of the truck either. Someone might have been trying to debadge it. The other two D1's I bought from the guy don't have any hood lettering either.

The dent on the fender is nothing to worry about, it looks like it's from the bumper rubbing there. Behind it is straight, the wheel arch mud guard is straight. It's a very tiny dent.

I pulled the pan, the bearings look a bit worn, plastiguage said main bearings were at about 0.0025" of clearance and connecting rods at 0.002" A new set of bearings has been ordered.

The vin is SALJN1247TA171783 if anyone has access to run a carfax.

For being 19 years old this thing is really rust free.

Any ideas on what a reasonable asking price would be?

$500.

Only known issue is the whole truck could have issues since you are trying to dump it after a week...

Seriously though, a D1 with no maintenance history and engine problems and an owner who has only had it a week isn't going to be appealing to anyone who knows better. Post it on d90 for $5600 and wait for a buyer.

This is not at all a correct way to repair an engine. Your engine needs rebuilt from the ground up.

Very clean truck - engines are a dime a dozen, I'd pull a pan, clean the pickup, and replace the rod bearings just for the heck of it.
Stu, you want it!

For the heck of it? Have you seen this truck or are you going by the pictures?
