Hello everyone,
I recently purchased Stu454's 1996 Discovery 1 from slowfiveo. Long story short to get this vehicle inspected in Rhode Island I need to have NO check engine lights on. The code the that is being thrown is P1176, P1179. I have done some research on this forum and pirate.
Initially, I had believed it to be the MAF, 02 sensors and vacuum lines. I purchased an aftermarket MAF and installed it but the vehicle ran worse and threw the same two codes. Cleaned the original MAF, reinstalled it and the vehicle ran smoother but still threw the same two codes. Checked the vacuum lines and everything appeared to be connected. According to stu454 and his paper work he had replaced the front two 02 sensors a couple years back. (atlantic british has no MAF's remanned or otherwise in stock either...)
What am I missing? This is my first discovery and a very maintained one at that. Could this be the charcoal canister or perhaps the fuel injectors? Or are both of my MAF's not functioning as I have read some of you post before.
Any guidance would be awesome...and as is expected feel free to insult my overall newness at this lol.
Kind Regards,
C
