After a decade of ownership we have a dead engine. Want to try to get something for it before I donate it to charity. Ideally I'd like to find a Land Cruiser "Will Tillery" type person who will just take it.

Anyone here wheel FJ-80 TLCs or have any suggestions? (Other than the 'search' option on this board)

  • New set of 265/75 16 Mich Cross terrains, less than 1,000 miles.
  • 230k + mileage
  • On its second engine which I'm told by the dealership has a washed out cylinder
  • Catalytic dead
I'm in Midlothian, VA (aka - Richmond)

Give it to Garrett. I have been told that Toyota's never break, are you sure it's not just resting?

If you seriously want to donate it, we need to talk. I can get you a tax-deduction for any value it might have. PM me your email address.

We own one in Uganda and could really use another one.

I'll be in Richmond in July on business with a co-worker with an F-350 and will be heading back to Lynchburg. I know the guy won't do it for free but I may could arrange some towing for you if you could make it simple for him somehow. Meaning he pull up and hook up and drop off. Guys got 7 kids. One in rehab and one with Downs, so I know he could use some coin. Let me know if you guys work something out.

Never mind I think your already in Uganda.

Sure thing Garrett...... but it would need to happen a little faster and more reliably than the pick up of the Sals axle that's still sitting here! ;) **If you don't need it I can sell it to someone else**

No worries really - just figured a little nudge may help remind you! :) :)

As for the D90 - it's all on hold till I get some other paying things done - and i am looking for full time employment currently as well. Being away this winter in New Zealand I found I am FAR happier working my ass off for *someone else* and doing my projects and smaller customers stuff in the later day and weekend hours. Boat biz has been great, car biz has been great and given me a paid for shop, paid for tools and equipment etc..... but I am done owning all of it and want to put in some time for someone else for a bit.

Need any help Garret???? Seriously - want to put me on the payroll to fix all the crap you destroy? Ha ha.

dropping a diesel in it was my plan as well - the LC we run in uganda has 280k on it and runs like a champ. Heck, it just drug my fat ass out to a village for two days on dirt roads from hell after an east africa rain.

to the OP - sorry, haven't checked my PM yet. Just got back from a village run - will respond now.

That's one hell of a commute to VA ya know. The weather here sucks wayyyy more than Maine too. Good chance I will be up there again in August. Though I prefer not to come then as route 1 is a bit crazy with the Cool as a Moose crowd.

Don't wait for us on the Sals. I've been waiting to hear confirmation from our CT mechanic guy and he's a poor communicator. Sorry to keep you hanging on that.

You should talk to Bruce about boat items. He just picked up a nice wooden boat that had been previously restored. He might sell it quick.

Hammy,

Sorry I never responded to your PM - my internet here won't let my PM box load enough to click on a specific message.

Glad you have a buyer. I finalized the purchase of a second vehicle in Kampala yesterday, so we should be okay on transportation until winter, at least.
