Hey, I have a friend who is selling his Defender that I am listing for him in a few places. Read the details and feel free to contact me with additional questions and/or pictures. One of the nicest D90's I've ever seen. Here are the details. Its a 1997 Defender 90 Soft Top #1788. The vehicle is white with black/grey
interior. Vehicle has just a breath over 47,000 miles and has been
garage and cover kept always. The vehicle is unbelieveable inside and out,
great shape!!! The vehicle was purchased by the current owner as a used
vehicle several years ago from Land Rover Hilton Head. The vehicle has always
been meticulously cared for and service records will show that. Some recent
upgrades include, new factory exhaust, stainless steel bolt kit, 02
sensors, replaced rear light lenses for clearer factory plactic. New BF
Goodrich All terrains. D90's with similar miles online are between $49K-59K. Please
let me know if you have any questions. Thanks again. Vehicle is currently located in Hilton Head, SC. Priced at $45,900. Thanks.

hahaa, only a matter of time before someone like you said that. Thanks for the 2 cents. Once again, I'm listing for a friend who is exploring selling it. Most people with Defender's don't have to sell them. If you or anyone else would like to make a reasonable cash offer those are always welcome, like anything else. Thanks again.

Who the F are you? Typical comment from "someone like you."

I'm listing for a friend who is exploring selling it.

So is it for sale or not? "Exploring"? Why did you post it here if he's only "exploring"? Can't he decide if it's for sale or not?

This willy-nilly "I'm-a-rich-guy-who-will-sell-for-the-right-price" bullshit is nutless, IMO. Tell your friend to grow a sack.

This website was designed for finding help and friends who share a passion for a similar thing. I don't think there's this much heat thrown around in political forums; and over vehicle pricing, wow. I'm sure Dave appreciates your help sticking up for him but it wasn't a personal jab at him, so cool it. Dave I do apologize if my comment was taken badly. The market is all over the place on these trucks so he decided on a price and said lets "explore" it at that price, if he needs to reduce he may. He would like to sell it, its not being driven much anymore and someone could enjoy this more than he is able to at this point in his life. Its not my truck or place to decide his price.

The whole "I don't have to sell" is the typical bullshit from morons. Yes, he does have to sell; he needs money. If he did not need the money he would either 1) keep it; or 2) trade it in on a new vehicle. People with bottomless pockets do not sell vehicles just because..... And, if they do it's to make room for a new vehicle and they could care less if they get top dollar or not.

It's a nice looking stock truck with low miles. You're fetching Coply Motor Car prices for a truck that's spent it's time at the beach. You may find some dumbass who will pay $46k, but don't let your butt get all sore because the people on Dweb know better.....

I understand what you're saying and I genuinely thank you for your constructive input. It is in the realm of copley pricing yes I do agree with you. In his case yes if he can make in the realm of what he is asking he would like to sell it, but probably I would guess like a lot of Defender owners he isn't wanting to give it away. The only reason I posted it here is because I have always enjoyed this site and thought why not get it out there. Offers never hurt either (no trades in this case, I have asked, haha). Thanks again for the input, I do appreciate it!

Bullshit Dan, if you have the money your still not going to give it away. As for his price a nice D90 with low miles and a 97, his price isn't far off. Besides you start up and go down in price not the other way. I think he will have no problem getting 40k for that. As for a beach truck, just because you live at the beach doesn't mean you go on the beach.

Wow KBB.com has it listed for 35K, unless your "friend" is a celebrity and has autographed the visor for an extra 10K to get your far fetched price. For that price your looking for it might as well be a D110.

I work in a Land Rover Dealer and have yet to see Kbb be right on with vehicle value of any make or model. Believe me I WISH Mr. KBB would write checks for what he says cars are worth. That's the problem I find all the time, customers feel educated because they opened an NADA book showing Loan value, not actual cash value or look at KBB and then be dissapointed with the number put on their vehicle. KBB can't even begin to understand and account for the Defender market. Even vehicles like Tahoes have such quickly changing incentives from the manufacturer KBB can't keep up with the dropping values of those. Not a knock on Tahoe's, just saying. Besides, what if he was a celeb, he just might be, haha.

where i'm at right now, duh...
Even if he was a celeb, i don't think it would matter... people on here for the most part laugh at others who pay so much for a celebs used car.

unless it was paris hilton's, then chris would be all over that shit. ;)

My experience with the LR Dealer is that they try to sell over the KBB price. I looked at a couple of 98 Discos with approx 60K on them and they were asking like 12,500 for them!! That was actually over KBB. I offered like 1 grand below KBB and they practically laughed at me. So i bought one just like it off ebay for 5,800 bucks! Ohh...and they want to sell at KBB but they definately dont want to give you KBB on your trade.

price isn't that far off although with 47k miles, high.

Copley has a '97 BRG soft top with 46k miles listed for $41.8k.

personally I think the days of finding low mileage D90s are coming to an end.

some may remember Bear in GA always having 90s for sale a few years back.

now, not so common.

it is like the guys who had them as the 3rd or 4th car have sold them and the ones buying them now are going to keep them.

the cycle has changed.

too small for my use, yet, the pricing will keep going up over time for the low mileage ones.

imho,

Jaime

I appreciate the dedication of certain members here to keeping LR resale value as low as possible. Read the rules, get a life, and let the guy try before this thread so long that an interested potential buyer gets scared away. I think its a badazz whip and if I had 41k to burn i'd jump on the low mileage opp.
