I have a 97 disco 1 with the 4.0 gems motor. Aels as well if that matters. Pretty sure I have an injector sticking open, and putting fuel into the oil. Pressure bleeds off quickly.l, and the oil stinks of fuel.

What’s an inexpensive option for a set of 8?

While the motor is currently in good shape. I don’t want to sink big money into top spec injectors, as I might swap it for a motor with more power and better fuel economy at some point in the near future.

Genuine Bosch 4 hole injectors are a cheap alternative to the stock ones. I have some stock ones I’ll let go for a good deal.

Are they in good shape, and not leaking?

I also get no fuel coming out of the rail valve. But when I disconnect a line at the fuel pump tons of fuel comes out. Upon disconnecting a line at the pump, the rail valve will let out tons of fuel. Super weird.

I believe they are in good shape. I replaced them awhile back when I was eliminating some other issues.

I can't remember if there is a check ball in the return side of the fuel system or not, maybe someone else can chime in there. Your fuel pressure is within spec right? What you could do is, pull the spark plugs and inspect to determine if you have any cylinders that are super rich.

There is no check-valve on the supply line. Indeed, I plan on installing one :) ...Right after I swap out the stock regulator for that bimmer unit.
