I changed the fuel pump out and the rover drove great for three days and then on my way home from work the rover started to chug Im thinking of the pressure regulator or injectors but I do not know how to test them. To try and stop myself from going in circles

Do you know if your Disco has AEL? Advanced evaporative loss? I think 97 was a changeover year for that system. 96 and earlier didn't have it, 98 and after did. 97 I don't know. When I bought my 98 Disco it had a non-AEL fuel pump which caused me problems. Make sure that whatever pump you installed it is compatible with whichever fuel system you have in your truck. As far as determining which system you have, I don't know how to tell. Maybe call a dealer, give them your VIN and they might be able to figure it out. There might be another way to identify it that you can eyeball.

Had a little more drive time with rover and found that when it falters if I push gas pedal to floor as soon as it responds it slowly comes out of the falter/chug

first and foremost, why did you replace the fuel pump? what symptons were you experiencing? did the old fuel pump not give any pressure at all?

like frank asked, did you replace the fuel filter as well? hopefully the lines arent completely seized.. for future purposes, you should replace the filter any time you replace the pump. if you live in a state requiring ethanol, you should replace the filter once a year.

did you verify proper fuel pressure? in other words did you have somebody watch the fuel pressure gauge, while you were duplicating the specific driveability issue? the pressure gauge hose should be long enough to run between the bonnet and cowling, then duct tape it to the windshield.

verify you definitely have proper fuel pressure BEFORE swapping parts.

then always remember its a rover, so it may be due to a reverse light bulb being burned out!

I changed the fuel filter when I did the pump. The old pump was only outputting about 15 psi and vehicle would start with help (starting fluid) but when I would put it in gear it I could only drive idle speed if I pushed the gas it would stumble hard (sputtering and chugging). I have a new issue and I don't know if it would cause the problems I was having. Now I'm not getting spark and I think it might be my coil

Did you replace the two 2 Bosch fuel pump relays, in the right kick panel, when you replaced the fuel pump?

When they get "old" the engine will intermittently stumble.
