Time to sell my 97 Discovery. Too many vehicles... 130K miles, SD, Green Exterior, Leather Interior - good condition, no tears, rips, etc. 4.0 with Auto, 6-Disc CD Changer. Michelin XPC tires with less than 5K, recent brakes including new rotors rear, front rotors replaced 2 years ago. RUNS GREAT, DRIVES GREAT, set cruise at 75 MPH and it drives true all day long. EMU shocks and springs. 12 MPG city, 17MPG hiway. Oil changes every 3500 miles, always used prem fuel (BP). Located in Columbus, GA (100 miles South of ATL on I-185)
Parts replaced: O2 sensors, speed sensor, brake light switch, plugs, plug wires, battery, exhaust resonator, serp belt, all rad hoses, to name a few.... I have records. I am the second owner, purchased in 99 at 70K miles.
Issues: Headliner drooping a bit, never bothered me, might bother you. Paint could be in better shape. I am thinking $5K is a good price for this vehicle as it needs no mechanical work... I'd drive it across the USA today with no qualms at all. The only time it let me down was when the brake light switch failed in CVS parking lot, now I have a spare as they are very easy to change, just twist the old one off and push the new one on.
Kind of hate to sell, but with gas at 3 - 4 per gallon, I'll never drive it much, and I hate to see it just sit in the driveway ...
