I have this clack coming from the drivers side front end. Its was getting progressively louder over the last few weeks but seemed to have plateaued recently. Seems to disappear when I brake. Pads and calipers are new. Thought the sound might have been related to dry cv. Got the fill plug free and the swivel seemed pretty empty so i filled it up with 80/90 gear oil. Still clacks. The sound is somewhat rhythmic but doesn't seem to correspond with every complete rotation of the tire, like you'd expect if there were a stone stuck in your tread. Any help on this one would be appreciated.

Yea that's what I was hoping it was so I replaced the pads/calipers with a 110 setup I got from PT and the clack remains. I should probably take the wheel off and tighten up everything, see what happens.

My 98 D1 does the same thing with new aftermarket pads. The pads are really loose in the caliper, but doesn't affect the braking of the vehicle. Just annoying. I'll replace with genuine pads when these wear out. Hopefully, that will change things.
