98 disco put in park and it still rolls !

98 discovery . Pulled into my driveway put it in park and it started to roll and made a clicking sound. What happened and how can i fix it!? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Could be a broken parking pawl, but I'd make sure the shifter cable is adjusted correctly first.

Also, use your parking brake more.

Lock your CDL and see if it still rolls.

my 95 started doing did this when it was still newish, then one day it fixed it self

been trouble free for at least a decade.

These guys covered it . If it doesn't roll with the diff locked you probably have a broken axle . But the park pawl is the weakest part of the truck . Always set your park brake and once the truck is settled on the brake then put it in park .

So I tried putting it in CDL and it still rolls and makes the clinking noise .....
