99 DII wiper problem

I have a 99 D II and the windshield wipers when on the intermittent setting will not return to the bottom of the windshield. they will stay almost anywhere. when the wipers are on regular or high they work perfectly. what do i need to replace to fix this??

They won't park at the bottom when you turn them off? Or the don't go to the bottom while they are running in intermittent mode?

There is a park switch that can go bad, but I'd think you'd have problems in normal operation too.

Your wiper motor is toast. I replaced mine with another used one from Justin.

they won't park in intermittent mode but park just fine when in regular. the motor is fine it is just in intermittent when there is a problem. is there a timer somewhere in the system that controls the intermittent??

If I remember correctly, the switch is integral to the motor. Not sure if you can dis-assemble and just replace the switch or not. I just got a new-used motor.

The failed "park switch" is a part of the motor. I've had this happen to me. Just get a new motor and be done with it. They are not too expensive and easy to replace.

what Joel is saying is...

The combi switch (stalk) is bad because the op is saying the wipers will not park properly ONLY in intermittent mode, which should mean the park switch (physically in the wiper motor) works properly. Does that make sense?

I had the exact same problem, and swapping the stalk did not fix it. I had t replace the motor. I now have a spare stalk switch if you need one.
