99 Disco II - Needs Repair

I have decided to let go of my son's 99 Disco II. It has a rebuilt title and we have owned the car for 3 years, but it has become a money pit to me. In January the LR began to run rough. I took it to the dealer who stated there was a coolant leak at the intake manifold, shorting the plug wires and causing the misfire. They also said the total exhaust system was bad and there was no need to fix the misfire unless they could repair the exhaust. I agreed to the repairs and over $3,000.00 later I went to get the Rover and was advised after all the repairs they noticed the head gasket on the drivers side was seeping coolant and for a mere $4,500.00 they would do the head gasket replacement. I bought the son a Tahoe and initially wanted to just set fire to the Rover. I decided possibly someone here could repair this or use it for a parts vehicle. It runs well and I will list the new parts replaced on the Disco in the last year.

Headliner
Rear Bumper
All Hoses and Belts
Thermostat
Front Brake Pads and Rotors
OEM Spark Plug Wire Set
Windshield
Complete Exhaust System from manifolds back.

There is a 6 CD changer in the Disco and also an XM Radio receiver with remote. It has a brush guard on the front.

The car is green in color with a tan interior.

Mileage: 92,727

Located in Northwest Alabama - Muscle Shoals Area

$3,000.00 and come get it.

Thanks and God Bless

Thanks Varova87 for your input.

I was once told exotic cars and exotic women always cost you more than they are worth. I know for sure this is the case with the car now.)

Price Drop - $2,500.00

My wife now wants me to have this Disco repaired and let her dirve it. I told her I would give it a couple more weeks to sell and if I can not rid myself of it, I will repair it for her. Love the wife but do not want the car.

Pics available upon request.

Call Marty or Will. You can get an entire engine for a lot less than $4500.00.

In it's current condition you can expect to get $1000.00 to $1500.00 if it is really clean.

call will or marty and get a quote on fixing it, and then re-think the situation. either of those guys will fix it correctly, and for a decent price.

ponies is right, as it sits with a rebuilt title and it's engine condition, $1k or a little more is a reasonable price. selling a car with a spent motor is tough.

Timmy,

What part of Huntsville are you located in? And how long until you may be able to look at this for me.
