A/C Compressor Pulley

The car is in at the dealers for a 90,000 km service. For a while now I have been getting a noise from the engine bay that I have related to being one of the pulleys. The dealer says it is the pulley on the A/C compressor.

They are telling me that it is one assembly and I need to purchase a new compressor (SR 7000) about ?1300!!

Is it possible to get the pulley seperately? I'm not paying that price for an A/C compressor that is working fine, just for the pulley.

Cheers

Is the compressor different for GCC spec vehicles? Is that what you have? The parts catalogue only lists a comp assy. But it is only $1100 how much is L1300 ( sorry my keyboard does not have the symbol for the pound sterling).

I would guess it is not the pulley but the clutch which you can find used and the bearing was a special order item that was stupid expensive I don't even remember now I must have blocked it out. Mine was the clutch and I think I paid less than $100 for a good used one

Thanks for the info guys,

Picking the car up from the dealers. Told them not to touch the A/C Compressor. Will try and sort that myself. Won't go to the dealer here again. The bill sounds extremely high.

Most of it was, I presume standard Disco II problems from what I've read on here.....drivers door latch - central locking, passenger window regulator, headlining, windscreen pillar plastic (cracked due to UV), I have also had to replace the steering lock & ignition key recently, got a replacement to match my key from UK though.

Regards to all
