A/C Question as well as running a little warm

I have dual A/C's. I notice with our hot Texas weather that if I idle for extended periods of time my temps rise to about a 1/8th of an inch below the red on the temp guage. It is not for say 10 min of idle its for a much longer time like 30 min. I know both condeser fans are working and no obstructions between the condeser and the radiator. The strange part is that when I idle the A/C isnt as cold as when I am actually moving as well, the system has been topped off and it reads good on the low port.

My radiator has been rodded about 2 years ago so I think that is ok but I am wondering if my A/C compressor is not as efficient since it does have some high mileage on it. I have this problem every summer and I want to put this issue to bed once and for all. Last year it was 10X worse but it turned out that I had a bad condeser fan so I replaced it with a 83 Corrolla and it was running much cooler.

the fan clutch may be bad. if the ac fans are both turning than i doubt its the ac causing the overheat, and it usually only takes a matter of minutes to overheat when its the ac fans.

also, ac compressors run on the engine speed obviously, when it is idling it gets the least power. therefore it cools better when turning at speed. at idle my ac is ok but when going down the highway i could store meat in my car. this is due to the speed of the compressor as well as the amount of air going across the condenser

Thanks, the compressor theory was was I was expecting. As far as the fan clutch, I thought as long as you cannot turn it when the engine is off then its good? or am I assuming wrong?

I might be welding up the sunroofs since I can feel a fair amount of radiant heat coming from them and I never use them.
