Hello all!

I've been searching for the info on how much refrigerant should a 1995 Discovery take (rear air)... can't find any info on this. I would like to know the amount in lbs, if anyone knows.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

this info is required ( by the EPA or DOT or FCC or something) to be on a sticker underhood somewhere. i think near the front, on top of the rad with the other stickers. but im not for sure on the location. of course thats not to say its gone missing in the last 12 years.

yeah it should be under the hood. for whats it worth, when we fill ours at work, we just try to get them as near 30psi as we can. (compressor must be running to fill btw)

The sticker quotes charge for an evacuated system. If you are recharging, go by suction pressure at 30-35 pounds with the engine running, a/c on max speed blowers. If you opened the system or replaced components, don't forget about the oil charge too.

30-35 yes, but dont be worried if it wont take more than 29. i rarely see cars pull more than 30 pounds.

cozy: is that for a dI or dII?

Thanks, guys. I checked under the hood. No stickers regarding the AC. The plan is to evacuate, then refill. I hear 30 lbs here and there, but does that mean pressure or amount of refrigerant?

Ok. 30lbs = charged. But how much refrigerant does it need? I don't want to know by pressure but by amount. Anyone?
