A-Frame Ball Joint

I read somewhere that a new ball joint should be very stiff and you should not be able to hold the base and move the shaft with your hands.
I bought one a few years back and yes I can rotate the shaft, not easily however, but certainly not overly tight. This is not the adjustable joint, but the joint from Lemforder.
So, is this ball joint ok or would you recommend getting another?

ok, so maybe most just simply pull the part out of the box and install it without checking it?
maybe this is trivial, but what a PITA to go through this again if the new joint is too loose.

It's been a long time since mine was replaced but if I remember correctly it was very stiff but I was able to move it. Mine was the adjustable one though so may be a totally different animal. Sorry I can't help more than that because it is most definately not the funnest thing to install.

Thanks Jen. Thought it being said a new joint was so stiff was sounding odd. Just wanted to check for sake of sanity.
