it snowed here a bit and i parked my truck in some snow last night, today i was running around and when i got back i saw like a pale yellow spot in the snow where my truck was parked the night before. almost like brand new oil color. but my oil is due for a changin pretty soon and i know i don't have an oil leak. can it be anything else from my truck?, or maybe just animal piss.

i parked in a different spot today and looked under it, everything seems fine. my truck has never leaked before. but nothing may show up until tomorrow morning

if anyone can suggest any possibility that this is from my truck, or me just being paranoid,
appreciated

These trucks can be like old people. They dribble now and again. Pale yellow in a DI, gear oil? What color coolant does it have?

That may have been me, pissing myself after being told somebody owns a 96 DI that doesn't leak anything.

yeah its definitely coolant. just a very little bit. i guess since it was slow the snow diluted it to that light yellow color. guess ill start thinking about a head gasket job.

yes i was very surprised it was the only rover I've herd of that didn't leak. i was constantly checking all my fluids when i first got the truck expecting them to be bone dry lol i herd,"if its not leaking, its empty!" i've had the truck about 5 months and this is the first drip i've seen from it.

once the snow starts to melt out ill be able to locate the source of the leak .
would any of you guys suggest me park the truck until i have pinpoint the leak and the amount leaking?

Don't park it. Just keep the fluid levels up and check them constantly.
I always keep oil, antifreeze, transmission fluid and gear oil in the truck. You never know when you or someone else may need some.

and don't rule out a little critter camping out under your truck for warmth. Has happened to me, the spots were always in different areas under the truck. I still get them from time to time and always look around just to be sure.

^We have a winner.

On a different topic, re critters camping out underneath... you don't have any chewed-up liner visible when you open the hood, do you? Significant other had a rat-related coolant leak once recently.

great thanks guy's. this is my first rover an seem to be a little paranoid. the truck is 119,xxx miles young, and i don't know when the last time the head gasket was done if ever. i keep looking for excuses to do them just for peace at mind.

it very well could have been an animal. i need to wait till the weather is better
thanks guys.
