A slightly different tire question.

I currently have 18" Hurricane rims with summer tires and 16" Mirage rims with no tires. I would like to get a tire in size 275/65/16 (or close to that size) that is essentially a snow tire, but good enough for some moderately difficult off road conditions (ie mud, rock, loose rocks, etc.). Then I could put the 16" wheels on in the winter and when going off road.

Any suggestions on a brand and type of tire would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Not really. Pretty much all winter tires are useless off-road, even deep snow. Go for the BFG AT if you want good winter tire that's excellent on road and can be pretty good off-road. But it does suck in mud. Trxus MTs are good in the snow and they're nice on and off-road. Or you could go for some MT like General Grabber, have them siped and studded and you'll have a great winter tire that's excellent in mud but has thin sidewalls for playing in the rocks. The problem is that no one tire can do it all.

TrXus MT is probably your best bet. The issue is that 265 is a pretty wide snow tire. Maybe go a bit narrower with the same overall diameter?
