I wish I had renewed my subscription. I let it lapse since my Series has been half taken apart since September. Now my neighborhood is having a 25+ year or older car show and I coulda had it towed to the town center and entered the show. :(

Just find someone who has a current subscription and have him or her call the tow truck.... :)

Like it have had the platinum for years now.
Use it more now that the vehicles are getting older. Its helped out with family and friends who locked themselves out /needed jumps (naturally when I'm traveling with them). Long tows, travel services and discount tickets have been use many times. Though not part of the membership, but they have a state driver lic renewal window at my local office.

I have had AAA for years, if you travel, the discounts and services easily cover the cost of a Gold membership. ( well it has for me and SWMBO) Not to mention the towing... Right, Dennis? Ha Ha!

absolutely worth it... I have the premier, which has the 200mile + 5 additional 100 mile tows a year.. costs around $110/yr, and I use it on average about 3 times a year... like someone said above 'I have a Land Rover' ...

My family has it. 6 tows is enough for all four of us. It is most def worth it since generally one tow per year is needed.

Hell I was in Alabama in May when I blew the belts outta 3 tires (yes, I'm that good). AAA came and got me, no problemo.

If you own an old car/Land Rover you are dumb not to have AAA.

I have it and used it once when my D2 needed to go to the shop... Now that I have the Rangie, I have the platinum... pretty cheap insurance for these vehicles...

I used mine so many times one year they said I had to renew early that I had used up my tower... this was probably 6 months in, but at least as many tows, most of which were a good distance. I never signed up for it until it was necessary, just kept them in my contacts list on my cell just in case.

Was there a 7 day wait for it to kick in again?

Yeah, once you sign up, you have to wait a week for it to go through the system to get the 100 or 200 miles... you're limited to 3 or 5 miles for that week. I learned that the hard way after the first time I signed up and went wheeling the next day and sunk my truck.

That's what I figured. Hence the reason to not have it lapse.

Had my water pump die about 100 miles from home. My premier+rv service has now been prepaid for 6 years for what it would have cost me to tow.

AAA is worth to me in NAPA discount alone; if you use hotels that give AAA discount you'll make up for it even quicker.
Their free maps are arguably the best; the out-of-country maps (cheaper than Michelin) suck but still useful.
But, by far and large, the best AAA benefit is DMV services without block-long DMV lines.
