I have a 1999 D2 and have the old stereo design with the tape player and the cd changer. Anyway, have my XM radio hooked up via the tape adapter and sometimes use my MP3 player on it as well. I ordered the AB hookup thinking the sound quality would be better due to the digital connection. It was not. The sould quality was nothing other than horrible. With no music playing, the AB unit had a high pitched squeal in the background. The music sounded dull and lifeless even with the treble and bass set on the highest setting. The idea is good, the sound quality is bad.

However, there is another option, but only for Ipods, no RCA connectors, and I know only what their website says:

Thanks for the heads up on the AB interface. I have seen the Denison site before, looks good, but it's on permanent back order...and it connects to the factory CD changer harness, which my truck doesn't have.

Seems like there aren't many opions out there....

Can anyone tell me what the model number of the head unit is in the photo at the top of the thread? My owners manual doesn't have any info on it.

I'm guessing it's an Alpine product, but in order to select an adapter I need a model#

thanks!
