They went out of business a few years ago. Wonder if now that they were bought by a Chinese company if they are going to reopen in the UK or China.

I wonder what will happen to the cars? Will the Chinese finish them to recoup some money, or will all go to some scrapyard? That is pretty creepy. But somehow strangely fascinating, too.

Rover collapsed in 2005 and the ensuing deals seem to be a bit of a clusterfuck. Ford bought Land Rover, BMW kept Rover and MG, Nanjing automotive got the factory and some Rover/MG models. Ford kept an option to buy Rover from BMW and now have. The clusterfuck is now unclustered and the chinese owners plan to reopen the factory.

I'm confused. I thought 2002 was the last year that BMW owned Land-Rover?

Rover and Land Rover are 2 different brands, BMW sold Land Rover to Ford, kept the brand Rover but Ford negotiated the right to buy Rover, I think in case a competitor came out with a "Something Rover" which would/could confuse things with their brands "Land Rover" and "Range Rover".....

mg's being made in china......something about that seems wrong. that brings up a ponit, are land rovers still exclusivley (or were they ever exclusively) made in england? if not where else are they made?
