I replaced the brake switch on my 98 disco. I was stuck in park and slammed on the brakes a few times and that was temperaraly letting me shift out of park, but my brake lights would stay on and also the abs light. The next morning the same thing happened again. When a replaced the switch it was in the "full time brake light mode" with the abs light also on. I could not get the shifter stuck in park to make the abs light go off before I made the repair. I was wondering now if maybe I disconnect the battery for a minute or two will the abs light reset itself since the abs system might be storing the brakes light problem code in its memory. All fuses and relays are good and the abs system feels normal. Any thoughts about this would really help.
