Nice write up. If one is creative you can remove the shuttle valves without having to pull the entire unit out. Thus not having to bleed the brakes. Tiny hands and a small 4mm can do it.

Good write up though. Nice to see someone take a different approach other than replace the whole damn thing.

Why did he remove the brake lines? According to the service bulletin, Land Rover wants you to just unbolt the modulator and bend the lines without disconnecting them. I've done this on a few shuttle valves, and I have found that it is difficult to get the pins soldered deep enough so that they don't bend when you put them back into the modulator.

This is where I saw it...
