abs recall

i got my letter concerning the recall a couple of weeks ago .... shortly after that the ABS ETC and DHA warning lights came on .... i made an appointment at the closest dealer in Asheville NC. .... after repairing the modulator cover and bolts i was informed that it would cost an additional $2100.00 bones + labor to repair a stuck modulator valve (by replacing the entire modulator assembly) in addition i was charged $85.00 for diagnostics ... has anyone else had similar problems? ..... it seems to me that the modulator assembly would be covered by the recall as it most likely failed due to the defective bolts and cover ....

It's unlikely that your bolts and cover were bad or already failed. It's just a safety recall to ensure yours do not fail like others have. Because of this I think it's very doubtful that the modulator failed because of the them, it's probably just coincidence.
