Could someone tell me, or direct me to a place, that describes the "cleaning" of the ABS sensors on a DII? Also, I remember a post listing the part number for the sensor only without the hub, but I cannot seem to find it after searching.

Issue is that the HDC-TC-ABS lights coming on while driving down the road. They shut off after the vehicle is turned off. There does not seem to be pattern...

TIA,
Spencer :D

Spencer, I am having a similar problem on my D1. The ABS light comes on occasionally while driving, and also the ABS occasionally kicks in while braking on non-smooth surfaces(like rail road tracks) so I think I have a sensor issue also. Maybe someone could help us out... Joe

I may be way off since I have a D1, but I had sysmptoms where the ABS light would go on intermittently, and the ABS would kick in while braking on dry surfaces, again, intermittently.

I solved the problem by going around each ABS sensor and tapping it lightly with a mallet to reseat it into the hub (stress lightly!!). The sensors do not need to be cleaned, and they will self adjust.

I my case, I noticed some vegetation around one of the rear sensors, so I suspect that as it snagged it pulled the sensor out of adjustment.

I had a similar problem after having the front differential serviced. I was driving home and after about ten miles the ABS, HDC, and ETC lights came on. They would come on every time I would restart the car. The service technician checked the sensors and they were all fine. What Six States did to fix it was to unplug the battery long enough to reset the computor. (be aware that your factory stereo will not work until you enter your security code. I had to get this from our dealer.) This seemed to fix our problem. I hope this may help.
