'95 LWB - the ABS/TC lights go off on start up like they should. Usually they stay off while driving on smooth surface road. But the moment I hit a rough patch, ABS/TC light come on and stay on until shut down. Usually they will be off again on start up, but at this point, almost any non-perfectly flat road will set them off. It will do this until I have the truck shut down for an extensive period of time in which case, only a really rough spot will turn them on again. Wash and repeat.

At times, I can actually hear what sounds to be a spring under the dash when I hit a rough patch, before the ABS/TC light come on.

Any idea which specific sensor this is? I assume this has been rehashed ad naseum.

Make sure the wheel bearings are not loose . Pick up the truck so the tire is off the ground and see if its loose . also make sure the sensors are pushed down into the holes until they contact the reluctor wheel

Given your description I think you will find one or more wheel hub reluctor rings is losing its connection to the sensors. That can be because the sensors are out of position (not likely but possible) or because there it play in one or more hubs. A scan with a LR test system would tell you which wheels were faulting and you could concentrate there.

If you search, there's a thread (I think here on Dweb, use ABS code perhaps) on how to get the ABS system to flash the code to tell you precisely which sensor is triggering the light. Happened to me on my first 95 LWB and I found that the spring/clip/thing (I forget its very British real name) that the sensor sits in was worn and wasn't holding the sensor steady enough. I bought a new one and the seal and problem was solved. Of course, after I did that one of the members pointed out that I could have simply bent the tabs on the spring/clip/thing slightly and would have had the same result. I didn't mind the few $$ is cost me but I filed it away for future reference as you can now tell... Good luck.
