Does anyone know how to get the A/C unit out? I am trying to change the burnt out lights. I have the radio and the coin tray stuff out. Thanks. 2003 Disco S

You mind posting how you did it? I'm interested in this as there's only one light in the entire unit that works on mine.

take out the coin tray and ash tray. then unscrew the three buttons behind those trays, that will release the bottom 'shelf'. there are two metal tabs on the side of the a/c unit, these have to be pushed in to get it out(this is the ticky part). after that is out disconnect the three sets of wires from the back of the unit and unscrew the little gold screws on either side of the unit. dont rip it apart because of the wires inside the unit. anything else, ask

If you have quite small hands, you can just remove the radio reach in and push the clips on the aircon unit from there as well.

Also when you remove it, take note of the little rubber "bushes" that sit on the pegs (x 4) when installed, they stop the unit "rattling" in the dash, they quite often are left in the dash or fall off when you remove it and you may not notice them.

the bulbs that light up the LCD screen you can get at AutoZone, do not throw away the green covers on the bulbs, they come off. The temp control bulbs are being ordered via the dealership
