Adding an Extra PS pump

Ok you gearheads.

What would it take to, and how would you mount an extra power steering pump to a disco 2. I have been mulling this over since March and this is what I want to do.

I want to add an extra ps pump for a mile marker I will use 1500 psi / 3.5ish gpm pump (used/salvaged) and an electro magnetic actuator on the pully (used/salvaged) (a'la air conditioner compressor) to activate it from the cab when needed so as not to sacrifce gas mileage but get all I can out of the winch.

This setup will not alter and screw up the delicate relationship of the stock steering system. But the added pump will be there when I need the winch but unobtrusive when not in use.

Mount it where the ace pump goes if you don't have ace. I would think it wouldn't be too awful hard, just fabricating and getting in there and see how it'll work.

While I will be the first to admit that my winch hasnt seen that much duty at all, I installed the 10,500lbs Milemarker with the stock pump. I havent had any issues yet. It pulled a buddies tacoma across a parking lot with his brakes locked, the winch keep pulling strong the whole time.
I have a 00' DII with ACE and stock pump.

I'm also running the MM10.5 with the stock D2 PS pump. Seems to have plently of pull but is pitifully slow!

How about just using the ACE pump for this? If I recall it's different from a regular PS pump in that it will pump out a constant rate at any speed. Might be a very easy and cheap (read salvage part) alternative.

Or you could just get a "real" hydraulic pump.
