I would like to add a cigarette lighter/ power outlet to my rear cargo area to run a plug in cooler, spotlight, etc.. I was thinking about running wires from the battery and putting in a 15 amp fuse. Has anyone done this in the past?

use a relay, i used a hella hi power lighting relay and 8ga wire; its triggered by ignition; went to radioshack got a 3 outlet plug, butcherd the cig liter part and velcro'd the 3 outlet

I installed one in the back of the DiscoII to run the ARB fridge. It's on all the time even when the key is off. Unlike the one that is already back there.
