our 03 overheated last week without warning. took it to our certified indy shop for repair. there was no coolant in oil prior to the tow. Water pump was shot, temp gauge went red immediately after pump replacement. Tech checked and running temp was fine. Decided it was temp sensor. Tried running after and coolant was found in oil. Said it looks like timing covet and or gasket. Based on the time this occurs cannot do head gasket test . It is a pretty decent unmolested 03. Fix it or ditch it. Thanks Dewebbers!

Follow up. Multiple misfires, excessive pressure in cooling system, starts and dumps coolant through
Cylinders into sump. My trusted Indy mechanic said engine is done. Has new starter 2 mos. old, brand new water pump, clean exterior decent interior. No mods never off-road. Will try to post pix tomorrow. Located in northeast pa. (Plains) outside wilkes-barre. Hate to see it go but wife needs a new vehicle ASAP. No time to part it out. Make an offer and take her away. Color is black with black interior. 2003 D2.
Wife is upset she loved this rover. Please someone resurrect her! Thanks Dweb for all the help over the years.
