African Outback Roof Rack

Does anybody have any experience with the aluminium roof rack made by African Outback Products?

That thing is pretty sweet as far as utility goes. Looks real versatile with that sliding bolt system. Not in love with the looks, but then again, its not my rack

Now that is just wrong Koby . If you actually never had to step back and look at the thing , its nice.. They always take pics from the top and sides because you simply dont want to see that thing from the front. They are much like the hannibal and seem built well (Accept for those cheese gutter mounts) nice and light as well.. Just so generic.... Thats more then likely the same rack that fits any other SUV in the Disco class..

SD rack does look good no doubt. But you run into that everyone having one thing. All carbon copy trucks running around with $G stickers on them...

I like simple shapes. A blade, maybe with a simple A-bar, appeals more to me than a wraparound deal with bells and whistles. LR had sense to make a very simple CT bar; the D90/110 CT bar even looks good on a D1.

Same to the roof rack. That I'd like to see, on either RRC or D1.

Sticking my neck out here, but I've always thought the rack that LR used on the Ruta Maya journo jaunt was the best design of all. Then again, Racks make no sense in the woods we get up here in New England

Chris , that rack is actually just a big erector set. Its not very good.... And again , you have that giant gap in the front..

Racks make sense up here, Chris. We just call them "roof sliders" in the trees.
