Racks make sense up here, Chris. We just call them "roof sliders" in the trees.

Plus you can set up limb risers with the rack

Racks make no sense in the woods we get up here in New England

i can think of a number of occasions when my rack saved my roof from some nasty damage. I think racks make even more sense up here in new england because even if you are not using it to haul cargo it acts as a "slider" for the roof. Some of these branches up here would pull open a disco roof like it was a sardine can.

i also see that im not the only one with that thought.. I suppose i should read the entire thread before responding..
