I'm doing a snow run next week, and will be using chains (front and rear) for the first time. They will only be used while on the trail (which has no rock obstacles, just deep snow) and I have a few questions.
Is it advisable to air down the tires with chains? If so, how low psi and when should it be done, before or after putting the chains on? I know to re-tension them after driving a bit. Seems airing down too much would cause a lot of stress on the chains from the tire bulging at the ground.
I'm running 255/85r16 KM2 tires with the RUD grip 4x4. I did this trail last year with the same tires (no chains) and didn't have much of a problem. This year I'll be at the front breaking virgin snow and need as much traction as possible.
I've done some searching and read mention of a snow driving video by Muskyman. Anyone have a link to it? I'm interested to see it.
