I found a 01 D2 with the 7 seater package and rear airbags for a pretty good deal here in Charlotte, the seller needs money to start his business or something like that. Anyway, the rear of the Rover after sitting for a few hours he says sits lower than it should every now and then, not all the time, but every now and then----he said that he had heard this is so people can load easier into the back, but he says that its random times it does it.

Does he have a leak in one, or both of his bags---or is this normal when the weather is cold?

And for use bags, or to replace the bags with springs, whats the cheapest route to fix the problem either way if I were to buy it for a second car???

thanks in advance for any help, sorry for such a newb question

You would have to buy a couple of spring perch for the rear and some other mounting hardware to convert to coils.

$5k for a vehicle in that condition sounds more than fair to me. Try to learn about as much history of it as you can, has it had a valve job yet? :)

also, if you do pick up this vehicle and ditch the bags, you'll need to go to your favorite Rover shop or even the dealer to have them tell your vehicle that it is not an SLS vehicle.. cost to do that should be minimal.
