Alternator question?

Driving to work this morning and the tac and speedo dropped off. Also the dash lights went dim. My guess is the alternator died. Is this correct or do I need to have something else checked?

most likely you are right. but have it tested and check all connections to be 100%.

That's exactly what happened with my truck when my alternator went kabloey. I'd say that's a good first place to look.

IIRC a good alternator should put out ~14 volts.
