I'm trying to replace the front fog light bulb on my '02 DII and I'm not having much luck. Is there some sort of trick to pulling these? It looks like the old bulb was epoxied in or something and I've already broken the bulb trying to get it out. Any help would be appreciated.

I checked the Rave CD and it said to pull the mulitplug apart. I am certain there should not be any epoxy on it.

I've had the same problem with the bulbs and have taken needle nose pliers and twisted the left in base out. It's fairly common for the bulb part to separate from the base. Gotta get violent.

When I had the stock fogs, mine actually melted all together. So I ended up cutting and splicing a new socket back on. Are you sure you dont just have a heap of melted plastic... I could see where that would look like epoxy

Yeah, I've had connectors play really hard to remove, I put a bit of silicone grease on before fitting things now and that minimizes the corrosion.

I think you are probably right, I bet they melted together. That would certainly explain the difficulty, not to mention how insanely hard it is to maneuver your hands in there to work. Where did you pick up a new socket to splice in there?

So I was able to pull out the bulb after soaking the damn thing in sili kroil (the best product ever). Replaced the bulb and the fog light still doesn't work! I even made sure to dab a little bit of di electric grease on there to promote conductivity. Where should i look now to remedy this problem? FYI: the driver's side fog light still works fine.

You can get new sockets at any auto store.

Get your multimeter out and see if you're getting juice ... my driver side lamp went out and it wound up being a chaffed line from off-roading somewhere down the line; I dumped my fogs when I trimmed my bumper so I didn't bother replacing it.
