starbucks takes a stand then surrenders, just like their home city?

who would have ever thought after decades hearing REVOLUTION by white guys with tactical gear and AR's the real 'war' would be started and allowed by skinny jean wearing snowflakes?

The day I drink a Starbucks anything is when hell freezes over.

Living at Starbucks Ground Zero in Seattle, I always find it hilarious to see tourists lined up out the door to get coffee at the original Starbucks location. They come walking out with great big smiles on their faces holding their paper cups containing coffee identical to what you buy at every other Starbucks in the world. There is nothing distinctive about it, other than the historical significance of the location, which is what brings them in droves. But other than the address, it's just another Starbucks. What I find more interesting is the sinister nature of the corporate HQ. That creepy mermaid peering over the central tower surveilling the city:

I’m not a fan of the company or the coffee. Virtue signalers with burnt beans. Unfortunately I’m a frequent customer because in business travel they are ubiquitous (at least in the airports, hotels and cities I roll through). I can get my favorite Dunkin at DFW and one place I’m aware of in O’Hare. That’s about it :(

It’s weird. When I lived in Florida it was Starbucks, donut shops or a restaurant for coffee and that’s it. When I lived north of Seattle, I loved that there were a lot of independent coffee shops and stands. Here in Idaho, there are 3 local chains and then Starbucks is a minority. Not really sure how Starbucks became as popular as it has.

Yeah well.. when the kid played travel baseball we'd leave the hotel in the morning and the wife would say "there's a Starbucks 30 miles down the road". And when we'd arrive there'd be a line around the building into the road, every time, and I mean EVERY FUCKING TIME. We had some pretty heated exchanges in the drive thru. So much so it got to where she just got up early and did her thing then picked me up. I swear they put crack in that shit. What's more, it's not even coffee really. What the fuck is a blone vanilla latte w/three pumps of classic and whipped cream? Anyway, like I said, a line around the building into the road.

Same goes for Subway. I dislike subway but I'll eat there before any other shady dive in the middle of BFE. It's a stand-by, a shitty standy by but it's still a standby.
