Bold is mine:

You shall have no other gods before me.

You shall not make for yourself any carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate me but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
This is why I don't like your god: (s)he's a spiteful, vindictive prick.
Punish the children for the sins of the fathers? What a fucking asshole.

You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
Is your god this much of a pussy?
"Don't call me names! I'll smote you! You big meanie!"
Spiteful, vindictive, little fucking crybaby.

Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
But your wife should work. Somebody needs to make my dinner bitch!

You shall not murder.
Judicious application of murder would go a long way in cleaning out the gene pool.
Of course, I get to choose.

You shall not commit adultery.
-----
Dont bang married chicks... Nothing wrong there.
If the married chick and I are both consenting adults, what's it to you if I'm banging her?

You shall not steal.
Because governments don't like competition.

.....
and so on.

Thanks for your concern, but imposing the "laws" of your spiteful god on me is not really that cool.

But what if they are the ones who make the choice? Or decide, "Well, let's just expand this one a little, because we know any sex outside of marriage is a sin, as is masturbation"?
But seriously, except for the first 3, as a Libertarian I do my best to follow them, because they happen to fit. Considering that, it's funny how many people dislike what Libertarians promote.
This is a bit of a loaded question. First you have to define "they". Are "they" the citizen majority, the SCOTUS, some small faction of no significance?

I'm a Libertarian too, although I lean right of center. Do no harm, don't tread on me, mind your own business, forizzle. (that sounds like a campaign slogan if I ever heard one).

Those are not the laws of any god, they are the laws of man. God is the thing they use to scare you into following the rules.

When I hear this crap about "What's wrong with a little gun control" it makes me want to vomit. I live in the "Peoples Republic of Massachusetts" and we have some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country. Remember Clinton's 10 year gift of the Assault Weapons Ban that expired a few years back? Well the masshole politicians here thought it was such a great idea that they decided to make it permanent! And it gets better. We also have a list of "Approved" handguns. Only a few manufacturers agree to comply with the standards required to make a gun "Massachusetts" approved. So our selection of new handguns is limited. And here's the best part. Even if a gun is on the approved list, it still has to pass the attorney generals "Consumer Protection" standards. So that makes the list shorter. Our attorney general even threatens companies who sell mail order ammo to licensed gun owners, even though there isn't a law against it in this state. If you want to see this yourself check this for info. www.massgunlawreform.com It's a uphill fight in the state and unfortunately we have some of the biggest anti-gun politicians like, Ed Kennedy, John Kerry and Barney Frank. Our Governor, who is friends with the Chosen One, is anti-gun, He wanted to double the gun license fee and create a 1 gun a month rule. And by the way, before some crack head makes one of those, "Why would you want more than 1 gun a month?" comments. The limit included magazine clips. So if I bought 1 magazine clip this month I would have to wait till next month to either buy a gun or another clip. So stick your Little Gun Control up your arse! I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

I thought those were the "10 commandments". Isn't that the verbatim word of god given to moses? It's been a while since I've read that book.

As for adultery, it isn't an innocent crime. You have a breech of contract between the fornicator and the innocent spouse.
As long as it's not your spouse who is being fornicated upon, it's still not your concern.
And let's be clear here; I'm not saying I advocate you cheating on your wife. What I am saying is if you are cheating on your wife, it's none of my business, unless you're fornicating with my wife.

Wow, I feel like I'm going to hell for just READING Jims post.
If your god would send you to your hell for that, well, it just proves my point; your god is a dick.

Mass is one state I just don't understand. How is it that those clowns, especially Kerry and that freak Franks keep getting re-elected in your state? Do they accomplish anything besides taking away more and more of your rights? Sorry to hi-jack the thread but I just don't understand that state. Michigan is bad enough now, I just hope I'm out of here before it becomes too much like MA and CA.
