 Me Saturday after my 02 Kalahari got pancaked!

Not really sure how, but Channel 2 out of Nashville got pics of my DII and had it on the 6 and 10 news Saturday night.

Don't know what I'm going to get now. I really loved my Kalahari and had never seen another one other than the ones @ LRN when I purched mine. I spent Sunday looking at the 2000 to 2003 stock and they all look NAKED without the hood blackout, bullbar, SG Rock Sliders, roof rack, 6 lights and various stickers. I don't know if I'm going to be happy with another DII.

I'm considering trying to negotiate the smashed LR in my insurance settlement and moving the remaining good stuff to a new ride.....but it will never be quite the same. Then what would I do with the rest of the body? Good 30,000 mile motor, trans, suspension,.... Don't really want that hanging around in the driveway for 6+ months. Maybe even going to a 2002 Range Rover, but need to do research before I go that route, or even worse getting a little Mini Cooper for the wife who drives 100 miles round trip a day to work in a Suburban......I think I'm sick again. Any way what are your thoughts?

Yellow is nice...but think ORANGE

TReK vehicles have much of the same look, and are equipped similarly...if you can find one.

Sorry to hear about the Kalahari, glad no one was hurt.

VERY sorry to hear that. I have a customer with a white Kalahari with around 30k miles. He is looking to sell so he can trade into a Range Rover. I'm in the Philadelphia area if you are interested. aparlin at alumni dot wlu dot edu

The local dealer here still has an orange with a blue stripe D2 -whatever "special edition" that was.

That's the G4 edition. Quite a few people here have them. That might be a nice replacement - it's still a D2 (a D2a, but almost completely the same), so it's the same as your Kalahari. But it would also be almost-new, low mileage, and has stuff like a SD rack and all already installed. From how it sounds, you want to replace your special edition with another one.

Sorry to hear about your Kalahari, though...but just know that you'll find something to replace it. It might not be the same, but maybe you'll find a new love.

Man the same thing happened to me a few months ago when a drunk driver ran into my garage and disco parked in the driveway...he totalled my disco and messed up tons of other shit...I was ready to kill him...but be patient and wait..as a new truck you will probably find that you may like better.

Oh man, that sucks. Sorry to hear that. I know the exact same feeling you're experiencing. I had just put new brakes and a full suspension lift on my old truck and I had it about a week and when I was launching my jetski the truck simply slipped into the lake with me holding onto the back corner of the bed. I know exactly how you feel. I should scan the pics if I can find them so you don't feel so bad.

Gotta love insurance. Replace the speedometer with one with lower milage before the adjuster gets a look at it.

Good luck.

Dang and both incidents in TN. I don't think I will be going through any time soon. Sounds like my disco is a little safer here.

I think that's called insurance fraud. :D

Not sure if RoverChic has passed the bar yet ... so don't get caught if you try it.

Wow, I hate to see that. Especially when you get one you really like.

My wife loves her G4, of course it's a mall cruiser for her but it's set up pretty nice from the dealer.

Good luck

Oh wow, I'm so sorry for you! I can imagine that would just make me sick as well.

I would think that you could 'build' a DII to be very similar to your kalahari.....take the wheels and all salvageable accessories off your old one....get hood blackout, roof rack and some lights.....

If I were you, I'd buy an 04 DII, white if you like (my next truck will be white) and make it like you want it.

Good luck with everything and atleast nothing was hurt but your Disco...and your soul! :(
