Has anyone successfully "rigged" a fan clutch so that it will not slip and always be in "cooling mode" ?
I am looking to rig mine until my electric fan gets here and I am taking a quick trip this weekend before they will arrive.

Thanks,

Hello,

Go to Autozone and ask for the "heavy duty" fan clutch for a 1998 Chevy Blazer. I *think* the new part number is 922786, it costs $66.99.

I can't say for certain, but my disco sounds like a lawn mower throughout the driving speed range, so I'm fairly certain the fan clutch is perpetually engaged.

Warning:
This sounds stupid, I realize - but I would place a t-shirt or other protective barrier between the radiator and the viscous fan clutch while attempting to loosen the bolt. Recently, the spacer wrench I rented from Autozone went flying with such force that it punctured the radiator!
