Another possible source of death wobble?

Once you've exhausted the spline alignment, you can tweak the drag link a little. My guess is the steering wheel is about 1/4-3/8" off horizontal on its rim.

Less than 1/4 of a turn of the drag link resulted in a perfectly centered steering wheel. I appreciate all the help. I learned a bit more about alignments. I also pulled another one of my D1s into the shop, this one has a 2 inch lift, and undid my “hack” alignment work and got it perfectly aligned as well. This one was a little more work as the 300tdi has more stuff near the steering shaft making everything harder to access.
